As a blogger I’ve participated in several blog carnivals and on occasion I’ve hosted my own carnivals. Over time I’ve come to realize that first, I sometimes had trouble finding blog carnivals in a specific subjects such as pets. Second, a blog carnival can be a great way to network with other bloggers in your niche. Third, one of the great ways to drive traffic and new subscribers to your site is by contributing guest articles to established blogs (such as PetCarnivals.com 
).
What is a Blog Carnival?
From Wikipedia:
A blog carnival is a type of blog event. It is similar to a magazine, in that it is dedicated to a particular topic, and is published on a regular schedule, often weekly or monthly. Each edition of a blog carnival is in the form of a blog article that contains permalinks to other blog articles on the particular topic.
PetCarnivals.com has several goals:
- Offer Pet Carnivals (A Pet Carnival is a blog carnival for pets) for all kinds of pets.
- Offer a place for pet bloggers to network.
- Offer pet bloggers a chance to contribute guest articles to the PetCarnivals.com website.
- Offer original pet articles on a daily basis.
Are primary goal is to gather people around our blog and create a community through carnivals, guest blogging, and general networking through article commenting. We’re going to use the comment luv plugin and we’re turning off the usual WordPress no-follow in the comments section. What does this mean for you? Well, quite simply by adding worthwhile comments you will get a link back to your own blog. And what does comment luv do for you? It gives you a link back to your most recent article.
